CIAC Winner at the Westminster Volunteer Awards 2011

The Chinese Information and Advice Centre (CIAC) is delighted to have been recognised for its outstanding volunteering work in the City of Westminster by winning in the category of "Organisation" at the Westminster Volunteer Awards 2011 ceremony held recently at The Abbey Centre, SW1 on Wednesday, 1st June 2011.
The "Organisation" Award was part of a Volunteer Awards Scheme orgainsed by the Volunteer Centre Westminster (VCW) to recognise the outstanding work of volunteers and organisations that have excelled in volunteer best practices, managed and developed, and provided positive experiences to their volunteers.
Mr Edmond Yeo, JP thanked VCW for choosing CIAC as one of the two joint winners. In his acceptance speech, he reiterated that "Our Volunteers at CIAC are the hearts and soul of the Centre which enabled us to deliver the favorable outcomes to our thousands of service users over the years. We are proud to have created a range of interesting volunteering opportunities and meaningful responsibilities to our volunteers."
The Property Director of Rosewheel Limited, Mr Les Hardie whose company is a great supporter and friend of CIAC added "the volunteers contributed their diverse talents, expertise and time. These volunteering activities in Westminster genuinely transform lives and enriches our community."
CIAC received its Award and the Certificate of Recognition from Cllr Colin Barrow (the Leader of Westminster City Council) who also met 10 of the CIAC volunteers at the Award Ceremony held in conjunction with "Volunteers' Week" last week (1st - 7th June).
Mr Edmond Yeo, JP was also recognised for his outstanding volunteering work in the City of Westminster in the category of "Volunteer Impact." This year is also the "European Year of Volunteering 2011."
