CIAC 4th Charity Canal Cruise

The 4th Annual Charity Canal Cruise organised by the Chinese Information and Advice Centre (CIAC) was another successful and memorable fundraising event last Sunday, 23 August, 2009.
Cruising on the spacious Beauchamp barge, the participants feasted on a hearty oriental buffet while enjoying the fine summer weather. The meal of a mixture of Chinese, Korean and Japanese food was generously donated by the Lotus Chinese Floating Restaurant, Sen-Nin Japanese Teppanyaki & Sushi Restaurant Islington Branch, Noodle Oodle,Wing Yip,Tomoko, Korean Centre and Wonderful Patisserie. The passengers were entertained with raffle draw and auction activities sponsored by Ms. Penelope Kemp, etc. With laughter and goodie bags to take home, the voyage came to an end after a three-hour tour. Along with the above mentioned sponsors, CIAC thank Money Gram, Café Direct Plc, Hong Kong Economic & Trade Centre, Sainsbury’s, The Co-operative Food, ASDA, Marks & Spencers, Tiger Beer and China Palace for generously provided goodies in kind.
The Chairman of CIAC, Cllr Edmond Yeo remarked, ‘We are very pleased to see so many friends and supporters joining our Cruise. CIAC has endeavoured to help the disadvantaged and now we also need support from the community to continue our services.’ Mr. Les Hardie, the Property Director of the Rosewheel Ltd also commented that it was wonderful news that CIAC had another successful Canal Cruise. He has also encouraged everyone to join the upcoming Charity Mid-Autumn Dinner.
